Kick Stains to the Curb

We don’t know about you, but if you are anywhere that experiences cold winters, you are dreaming about those beautiful Spring days not too far ahead!

Porch sitting, iced tea drinking, and backyard playing sound pretty good right about now, don’t you agree? But with those warmer days spent outside from sun up to sundown, comes all the stains in all the clothes. Especially if you have children in your home.

You know the ones. The ones that won’t come out, no matter how much you scrub or how much you presoak, they just aren’t going anywhere. And sure, you can try those proven stain removers from the store, but have you read some of the ingredients? Many can be full of toxins that we simply don’t want in our home. So what’s a person to do?

Lucky for you, we have just the answer! We have a stain removing recipe that is about to blow those stains right out of your socks. All you need is a few natural ingredients that you probably already have laying around the house.

Here’s what you’ll need to grab:

+6oz. Glass spray bottle

+Hydrogen Peroxide

+Lemon Essential Oil

+Thieves All-Purpose Cleaner

+Distilled water

+Funnel

Directions:

  1. Using your funnel, fill your glass spray bottle about ¼ full with hydrogen peroxide.
  2. Add in 1 capful of Thieves All-Purpose Cleaner.
  3. Drops in 30 drops of Lemon EO.
  4. Top with distilled water.
  5. Shake to mix ingredients.
  6. Be sure to label your bottle so you don’t forget what is inside.

How to use:

  1. Shake bottle before each use.
  2. Spray liberally all over the stain (no need to scrub unless set in).
  3. Let sit overnight.
  4. Throw in the wash with the rest of your laundry.
  5. Get excited when you see it took that stain right out!

*For extra pesky stains, place in direct sunlight after spraying.

Want to know the best part, this recipe works for more than just clothes. You can spray it on most fabric in your home, including rugs and carpets. However, if using with dark colors, be sure to use a tiny amount of peroxide (or none at all) as it can act as bleach and we highly doubt you want to fade any colors!

And that’s it! It really is that simple to have a natural stain fighter that actually works. Don’t believe us? Give it a try and be sure to tag us @theoilerycollective with your before and after! We can’t wait to see your results!

Once you whip up this recipe, you’ll be all set for Spring and ready to kick those stains to the curb!
