Take Care of the Skin You’re In!

It’s wintertime and while not everyone in the world experiences cold, snowy days that crack our skin and leave it dry, we’re willing to bet nearly everyone experiences a decline in their skincare in this season. We don’t have the answers as to why, but if you’re anything like us, you just stop focusing on it as much as you do in the summer months.

But let’s help you stop that, shall we? What if we shared our favorite recipe for the most delicious body butter in the whole land? Would you try it? Would it encourage you to take better care of the skin you’re in? Let’s give it a try! Check out the recipe below and tell us this all over body butter doesn’t take skincare to a whole new level!

The Skin You’re In Body Butter

1 cup Shea Butter

1 cup Cocoa Butter

1 tsp. Vitamin E Oil

½ cup Carrier Oil of choice (we like almond oil)

10 drops Lavender EO

15 drops Frankincense EO

10 drops Manuka EO

Melt Shea Butter and Cocoa Butter in a double boiler. Add in Vitamin E Oil + Carrier Oil and mix well. Cool in the refrigerator for 30-45 minutes before adding in your essential oils. Whip with an electric hand mixer until it begins to form peaks and then transfer to a glass jar to store. After a shower, slather this goodness all over your whole body and enjoy the skin you’re in!

That’s it! It’s so easy, we hardly believe it ourselves! Take some time to gather these simple ingredients and set aside an hour of your day to whip up the most delicious treat for your skin! We like to use it every morning and night, but we won’t judge you if you carry it in your purse and reach for it all day long! It’s that good! Your skin will praise you for it!

Be sure to put your DIY skills to the test and share the end result by tagging us on Instagram at @theoilerycollective! We can’t wait to see what you “whip” up! {Pun totally intended!}
