Fall is officially upon us and we don’t know about you, but we’re ready for pumpkin spice and everything nice! One thing we love about having essential oils at our disposal is the ability to whip up just about any household product you can think of, all with ingredients you likely already have in your home. And there is just something about the fall season that gets us in the spirit for all the DIY projects. Wouldn’t you agree? If that’s the case, we’d love to share a few of our favorite fall essential oil-infused recipes for a whole lot of autumn DIY love!
10 drops Nutmeg
10 drops Ginger
10 drops Cinnamon Bark
15 drops Clove
In a 4oz. spray bottle add the oils above, fill the remainder with distilled water, shake well to combine, and spray on any surface in your home or office (spot test first). This is a great way to trash those chemical filled scented candles + air fresheners and replace them with your own healthy scent!
Speaking of ditching toxic fragrance candles, we totally get it – there really is no replacement for an authentic candle flicker filling our homes this time of year. With this super easy beeswax candle recipe, you can enjoy the best of both worlds without compromising your health! Here’s what you’ll need:
Beeswax pellets
Coconut oil
Wicks with wick tabs
Glass jar
Essential oils of choice
Container for melting ingredients
Melt all the ingredients in a double broiler (equal parts coconut and beeswax), remove from heat, let cool a teeny bit, add in essential oil (the drop amount is up to you depending on the scent and strength you’re looking for), pour into a glass jar (size of choice), add in wick, let harden, and enjoy. It really is that simple!
Sugar scrubs are one of our favorite things to make no matter the season, but with Cinnamon Bark essential oil, this one may just be the best one of all! This recipe is so easy to make that you’ll find yourself whipping one up every time you need a quick hostess gift or thoughtful present. You’re going to want to grab:
1 cup packed brown sugar
¼ cup coconut oil
½ tsp vanilla extract
5 drops Cinnamon Bark
Simply mix all of the ingredients together, place in a small glass jar with a lid, and enjoy anytime your hands or body need a good scrubbing!
If you have been using essential oils for any amount of time, you probably have the roller making game down! We love having rollers ready for easy, on the go use and this season we especially like to have an immunity roller at our fingertips. Grab a 10ml roller and fill it with:
15 drops Thieves
10 drops Frankincense
5 drops Lemon
Top with a carrier oil of your choice and roll it on the bottom of your feet and down your spine each morning and night! For an even easier option, grab the Thieves Roll-On from Young Living for on-the-go immune support.
While this is not a full list of the fun you can have with essential oils and DIYs this season, they are just a few of our favorites to have on hand as the weather becomes cooler and the cozy blankets come out! What are your favorite autumn DIY recipes? We’d love for you to share in the comments below and be sure to let us know what you’ll be whipping up with your essential oils this season!
