Diffuse the Situation

We can’t tell you how many times we’ve heard people say, “I want to try using essential oils, but I don’t need a diffuser.” While this is technically true, we can also pretty much guarantee you’ll love your oils even more after you’ve diffused them! It is our humble opinion that you do, in fact, need a diffuser – like in every room, every vehicle, and every space you spend any amount of time in. Diffusing essential oils happens to be one of the best ways to enjoy their many benefits and, lucky for all of us, it also happens to be the easiest way to use them! 


First, let’s get a better understanding of how diffusing works. Young Living diffusers use ultrasonic technology to disperse essential oils into the air through water vapor. After ultrasonic vibrations convert the water placed in your diffuser from a liquid to vapor, these tiny micro-droplets of water carry your chosen essential oils into the air where everyone in the room can enjoy their health benefits and wonderful scents! 


It really is no secret that our sense of smell is one of our most powerful, so it just makes good ‘sense’ (see what we did there 😉) to inhale aromas that boost our moods, lift our spirits, and support our bodies. Fun fact: our noses can detect over 1,000 different smell receptors and our brains are so smart that those scents can connect themselves to emotions from our past and present experiences. We bet you can think of a certain smell right now that transports you immediately back to a certain time or place, right? Pretty powerful how our sense of smell and brain work together! Because of this, using a diffuser for aromatic essential oil exposure can help promote healthy sleep, overall wellness, support respiratory health, awaken & energize, calm our spirits, and so much more. 


Most of Young Living’s essential oils are labeled for aromatic use, but be sure to check the label for that indication before diffusing. You can diffuse a single oil or have some fun by creating unique blends with multiple oils! Here are a few of our favorite diffuser recipes for you to try:

Go on… throw one of these recipes in your diffuser, fill with water, then sit back and relax while science and plants do their job to support our bodies! Heavenly, right? While we believe that one can never have too many diffusers, don’t forget it is possible to receive the aromatic benefits of essentials simply by inhaling straight from the bottle or by wearing them on your clothes, jewelry, or skin (just be sure the oil is labeled for topical use before applying). No matter how you choose to diffuse, aromatic oil usage is a must-do in our book and we hope you now feel a little more confident in doing just that!
