I don’t know about you, but this is one of those internal battles I have with myself.  Ever since I was a little girl, I have always had really sweaty hands. It’s mostly when I am concentrating on something or I am nervous, but it’s bad!  My piano teacher used to comment that she had never seen anything like it.  OK, cue me hiding in a corner now that you all know about my sweaty palms – yuck!  Maybe I won’t go that far, but because of my sweaty hands (and let’s be honest – my feet and underarms, too) and the embarrassment it causes, I am constantly on the lookout for new things to try that might help.  I mean who wants to be the stinky one in the room???  It’s kind of a catch 22, though, because it seems like the more natural approaches may still not smell that great, but the medicinal approach is filled with chemicals galore.  Gah!  What to do?

One of our members, Ivy N., recently shared with us about how she makes her own natural deodorant which really caught my eye.  It is made with two of Young Living’s essential oils, one of which is peppermint.  Yummy!  The best part is that it seems really easy to make and use – I can’t wait to try it out!

All Natural Deodorant Recipe

Ingredients

  • Organic, unrefined coconut oil
  • Baking soda
  • Young Living’s peppermint essential oil
  • Young Living’s Melaleuca alternifolia essential oil (Mel A or tea tree oil for short)

Directions

Get a tiny scoop (maybe 1/2 a tsp – I eyeball it) of coconut oil in your palm, add one drop peppermint oil and one drop Mel A, then add in enough baking soda to make a soupy paste. Slather on each armpit generously. That’s it! Four simple ingredients!
